Handover ceremony of sanitation project in Hoa Binh

On the morning of 26th September 2016, the inauguration ceremony of the clean water and sanitation work sponsored by the Latter-Day Saint Charities (LDSC), USA was organized at Quy Hoa commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province. Attending at the ceremony were representatives of LDSC, women’s unions, local authorities, mass organizations, students of secondary and elementary school and residents.

 The clean water and sanitation project had been implemented at Quy Hoa commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province since April 2016 with the total budget of nearly 1 billion Vietnam dong (in which nearly 700 million VND are provided by LDSC and the rest wascontributed by local authority) to build the clean water system for the communal People’s Committee, kindergarten, elementary school and secondary school, medical clinic and construct a new hygienic restroom for the medical clinic. As being assessed by the local government, the clean water project will be able to provide enough clean water for the project site and help prevent diseases and improve environmental hygiene at the medical clinic.

At the ceremony, Hoa Binh provincial WU handed over the completed work to the communal People’s Committee for management and maintenance to ensure its long-term use. Besides, the LDSC also presented o­ne injection cart and o­ne delivery bed to the local medical clinic to better serve the patients.

Right after the ceremony were songs and plays performed by students, staff of women’s union and medical clinic to raise the people’s awareness of hygiene and sanitation.
