Ha Noi Girl Student Hopes for WIPO Award

A student of Ha Noi city was nominated for the 2007 World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) award for her research on making fungus product for preventing plant-killing insects.

Le Thuy Quyen from the Phuong Dong People-founded University has just won the 2006 VIFOTECH, the Vietnamese prize for creation in science and technology, for her work, entitled "Research o­n the Technology to Produce Fungus Metarhizium Anisopliae Sorok for Preventing Plant-eating Insects," along with 70 other research projects by students.

 

Quyen was also awarded the "Students' Scientific Research Award," together with 510 other works.

 

The annual VIFOTECH award is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, while the "Students' Scientific Research Award" was conferred by the Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Viet Nam Students' Association.
