A forum, entitled "Children with Wonderful Childhood," was held on Oct. 7 in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue to increase public awareness about child care.
The Viet Nam Women's Union (VWU), the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Thua Thien-Hue People's Committee co-organised the forum to highlight a message that all children are treated equal.
This was part of a project on child development under a cooperation programme between the Vietnamese Government and UNICEF in the 2006-2010 period.
The project is jointly carried out by the MoET and the VWU, which have chosen Thua Thien-Hue province for conducting the project on a trial basis.
