Expat youths take part in charity on trip home to Vietnam

Twelve expat Vietnamese youngsters arrived in Vietnam Monday sponsored by the US Catalyst Foundation for a 10-day trip to help local underprivileged kids and discover their home country in the process.

The group, accompanied by 51 US volunteers, are to join various  charity activities, including giving away medicine for kids in the SOS charity village in suburban Thu Duc district and holding a painting competition for needy and abused children in the district’s village for disadvantaged youngsters.


They will also put o­n a camping trip for local orphaned and street children to the Ha Tien scenic beach in southern Kien Giang district. 


The Catalyst Foundation is a non-profit organization which works to improve the lives of orphaned, abandoned and homeless children in Vietnam through educational scholarship programs and direct relief efforts.


The organization also aims to build cultural awareness and enrich the lives of children adopted from Vietnam.
It previously organized three similar trips.
