Dong Nai builds city safe for women, girls

This is part of the province’s project o­n tackling gender-based violence in 2016-2020.

The province will raise awareness, enhance capacity and responsibility of local authorities about gender-based violence while paying attention to groups using violence and those vulnerable to gender-based violence.

Law enforcement will be shored up and a system of gender-based violence prevention and response services will be devised.

The province aims for all victims to receive timely support and 70 percent of abusers to be detected and punished rationally.

It will also organise communication activities o­n preventing gender-based violence and school violence in 90 percent of local secondary and high schools by 2020. Training o­n preventing school violence will be provided for teachers, students and parents.-VNA
