Closing and Prize Awarding Ceremony for the Contest “Following the age of 20’s tradition – to lead a fair and meaningful/useful life”

The closing and prize awarding ceremony for the contest “Following the Age of 20’s Tradition – to lead a fair and meaningful/useful life” was held in Hanoi on May 30, 2006.

The contest was launched in early January 2006 with the coordination of the Central Department of Culture and Ideology, General Confederation of Vietnam Labor’s Union, Central Union of Youth, Ministry of Training and Education and the Fund “Forever the 20 Years of Age”.

The contest aims to help people, especially young people to think about their ideals and morals, their lifestyle and their responsibilities in building and protecting the country. After 3 months, by 15th April 2006, the Organizing Committee received more than 200,000 articles.At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee has awarded prizes to 15 teams (one 1st prize, o­ne 2nd prize, o­ne 3rd prize, elevenconsolation prizes, and o­ne special prize) and 20 individuals (two 1st prize, three 2nd prize, five 3rd prize, five consolation prizes, and five special prize) among them there were 10 women:

1. Bui Thi Mai Dong, PhD (Central Vietnam Women’s Union) with an article titled “when I was 20...”: 1st prize

2. Tran Thi Ngoc Chau (Red Cross Association of Quang Ninh province): “I have overcome my pains at the age of 20. The happiness of being mother”: 1st prize.

3. Dang Thị Dung (teacher, Tien Tien primary school, Thanh Ha, Hai Duong province): 2nd prize

4. Nguyen Thu Trang (student of Hanoi Foreign Languages University): 2nd prize

5. Ton Nu Nguyen Anh (vanguard youth, Ho Chi Minh city): 3rd prize

6. Bui Thi Thu Huong (Quoc Tuan secondary school, Hai Duong province): 3rd prize

7.Le Thi Thu Hien (Class 9G, Ly Tu Trong secondary school, Ninh Binh province): 3rd prize

8. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Hung Vuong University, Phu Tho province: consolation prize

9. Vu Kim Khanh, Hanoi Pharmaceutical Joint-stock Company: consolation prize

10. Pham Thi Thuy An, class 7A, Nguyen Du secondary school, Phan Thiet province: special prize.
