A seminar was hold to get ideas from the local authorities and massorganizations in the communes, at the same time, a survey was conducted by the mission on thefamilies to get the information to make out a practical plan of setting up models in Muong Bon and Phieng Khoai commune.
Setting up models conducted by the Presidium of the Central VWU is a new effort to effectively implement Resolutions of the 10th National Women’s Congress, to partly address well difficulties andproblems at the grass root level and to draw lessons in directing women’s movement in the country, to develop suitable model for each region replication to others. Based on these models, VWU will propose to the Party and the State specific programs and policies to support women especially ethnic minority women.
The modeling will be conducted in the period of 2008 – 2011 and covers 6 areas of mobilization ofethnic minority women, poverty reduction; drugs prevention; literacy for women; function of representative ofWU at all level and implementation of the movement “Studying and following the late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.”
