Central Vietnam Women’s Union sent field mission to HCM to work on model mobilization of young women into Women’s Union activities

In accordance to decision of the Presidium of VWU on Providing guidance to selected Women’s Unions to build models of Implementing the Resolution of 10th National Women’s Congress of the VWU, the mission sent by the Central WU had a focus- discussion with leader of HoChiMinh City Women’s Union (HCMC WU) and representatives from different related sectors and branches in the city and conducted a survey on the situation and the work done by the Women’s Union on the female youth in order to set up models of mobilizing and gathering female youth into women’s unions activities.

In the morning o­n 8th July 2008, at the meeting hall of HCMC WU, the mission had a meeting with leaders of HCMC WU and representatives of related sectors and branches in the city about WU’s representative function, the movement of “Studying and following the late President Ho Chi Minh moral examples,“ the situation of mobilization of the female youth. The discussion focused o­n detail solutions for mobilizing and gathering female youth in order to implement the Resolution of 10th National Women’s Congress.


On 9th July 2008, the mission and HCMC WU conducted a survey o­n 150 young female at the age ranging from 18 to 30 who are workers, students, youths at the locality; WU’s members in Linh Trung ward – Thu Đuc district and Ward No.3 – District No. 5. The survey aimed to evaluate the situation of young women’s participation in women’s union activities; determining their demands and activities to attracting female youth into women’s unions. This would contribute to effectively implement the Resolution of 10th National Women’s Congress.
