Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s union and conferring the Vietnam Women’s Awards
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Duc Anh- Former President of the State; Mme. Nguyen Thi Binh- Former Vice-president of the State; Mme. Tong Thi Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central People Mobilization Commission; other members of the Party Central Committee; National Assembly deputies; leaders and representatives from various ministries, sectors, mass organizations and the Hanoi City; international guests, veteran revolutionaries and Vietnam heroic mothers. Mr. Do Muoi and Mr. Le Kha Phieu - Former Party General Secretaries and Mr. Vo Van Kiet - Former Prime Minister - sent their flower baskets to congratulate the VWU.
In her speech at the ceremony, Mme Ha Thi Khiet, member of the Party Central Committee, VWU President andNCFAW Chairwoman reviewed the glorious traditions of the Vietnamese women in the heroic history of the nation and highlighted the achievements by the VWU in the past 75 years, especially in renovation period. on behalf of the VWU staff, members and women throughout the country, she sincerely thanked the profound attention by the Party, the State, the Vietnam Fatherland’s Front, ministries, sectors, mass organizations and leaders of various generations to the VWU and expressed determination to successfully accomplished the tasks assigned to the
In his speech at the ceremony, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh praised VWU achievements in the past 75 years and emphasized that the Party, the State and the people always appreciated the role played by the Vietnamese women and were always proud of the glorious traditions of the Vietnamese women. on this occasion, General Secretary Nong Duc Manh presented a beautiful bouquet of flowers to VWU staff, members and women throughout the country. He wished the Vietnamese womento always remain worthy of the golden words presented by President Ho Chi Minh “Heroic, dauntless, faithful, resourceful”. He said, in renovation period, the Vietnamese women should uphold the virtues as being“Dynamic, creative, faithful, resourceful”. The VWU is to promote emulation movements, especially the movement “Women as active learners, creative workers and builders of happy family” to a higher level with specific and practical contents contributing to the successful accomplishment of the socio-economic development targets for the 5 years from 2001-2005 and next 5 years (2006-2010); pushing up the national industrialization and modernization, realizing the determination of the Party and the State of bringing our country out of underdevelopment and becoming an industrialized country by 2020, striving for the goal of “wealthy people, strong country, just, democratic and civilized society”.
At the ceremony, there were remarks by representatives of VWU veteran leaders and VWU young staff.
The meeting was followed by a ceremony to confer the Vietnam Women’s Awards 2005 to 4 collectives and 7 individuals who achieved outstanding achievements in various fields.
