Awards for outstanding scientists

The Vietnam Scientific and Technology 2005 and the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) awards ceremony for scientists will be held in Hanoi on April 12

The organizers of the Vietnam Science and Technology Awards 2005 decided to honour 40 sci-tech works, with four first-grade, eight second-grade, 13 third-grade and 15 encouragement prizes to be awarded.


The projects were in mechanical engineering – automation field, new materials, IT and telecommunications, biology, and environment protection technology.


The WIPO award for female scientists goes to Ho Huynh Thuy Duong, from the HCM City University for Natural Sciences, for her work o­n “building hepatitis virus quantifying process by real-time RT-PCR technology serving research and treatment of hepatitis C

The WIPO award for the best work earning the Vietnam Scientific – Technology Award 2005 belongs to a group of inventors from the Z133 factory under the Ministry of Defence.

The WIPO Award for outstanding business in 2005 will come to Vinacafe Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company in southern Dong Nai Province

The Vietnam Science – Technology Awards are established to encourage scientists to research and apply sci-tech achievements in production and daily life. The awards are presented to scientists who have valuable sci-tech projects that are applied effectively in Vietnam
