Assistance by the Women’s Union of Dien Bien province to needy children

 The provincial Women’s Union mobilized women members to contribute nearly 50 million Vietnamese dongs to the Child Protection Fund, set up a Study Promotion Fund of 72 million dongs, mobilized female state employees to donate 320 million dongs to needy children living in the surroundings of their respective workplace, cooperated with the Trade Union’s Committee for Women’s Affairs to raise 40 million dongs from lottery.

With this funding sources, the provincial Women’s Union visited and presented 340 million dongs worthy of gifts to needy children o­n the occasion of Action Month for Children and the Vietnam Day for the Family, awarded scholarship to 70 needy children, who has good school performance (200,000 dong each), visited and presented gifts to the ethnic and mountainous students of the provincial Boarding School (760,000 dongs, 73 sets of clothes, 10 mattresses, 50 writing pads, 50 ball-pens and 10 kilos of rice)./.
