Agent Orange victims receive free surgery

A group of doctors from the Ha Noi Medical University, in coordination with the Kon Tum General Polyclinic, provided free orthopedic surgery to 34 Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum between Sep. 11-13.

The group also provided functional rehabilitation techniques for 30 people, as well as free medicine and check-ups for 134 others in the province.


The work was part of a 400 million VND (25,000 USD) project, sponsored by the Viet Nam Red Cross, to help AO victims in Kon Tum province during 2006.


Under the project, 63 families of AO victims will each receive a cow worth 4 million VND. They will also be trained o­n cattle breeding and disease prevention.
