A female among 7 Chief Information Officers honoured

The 2nd CIO Indochina conference and awards ceremony took place in Hanoi on Monday, August 28, with seven CIOs honoured.

The o­nly female among the seven most outstanding CIOs of Indochina 2006 is Ms. Truong Thi Hai Duong, Director of the IT and Statistics Centre of the General Department of Taxation.

 

The other six include Dao Minh Tuan, Director of the IT Centre of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), Dinh Quang Nuong, Deputy General Director in charge of insurance transactions and IT of Prudential Vietnam, Nguyen Anh Nguyen, Director for Planning and IT of Unilever Vietnam, Phan Vinh Quang, Director of the IT and Media Centre of VietsovPetro, Le Vu Ky, Vice Chairman of the Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), and Moa Chakrya, General Director of the Laos, Cambodia Telecom Company.

 

According to IDG Vietnam, the organizer, these are CIOs who have greatly contributed to the development of their businesses in particular and social-economic development in general. This event is held to raise awareness of the role, virtue and necessary skills of CIOs in the age of information, especially when Vietnam is about to join the WTO.

 

General Director of IDG Vietnam and IDG Indochina, Le Thanh Tam, said that the selection of outstanding CIOs was based o­n the principle of nomination and direct interview.

 

According to organiser, this award is to honour innovation in business and leadership, and is not a simple IT award.

 

At the CIO awards ceremony, IDG Vietnam announced its ten best IT products selected by more than 1,200 CIOs and CEOs.
