2006 Plan of the Vietnam Women Union for implementing the National Program of Action on Elderly People for the period 2006 – 2010
The central VWU’s Presidium proposes to focus their guidance’s/directions in conducting the following activities in 2006:
To continue to disseminate and communicate the Ordinance on Elderly People, and the State policies related to elderly people to the Women’s Union cadres and members as well as to the elderly women.
To join with other mass organizations at different levels and state agencies to supervise/monitor the implementation of policies on elderly people, especially elderly women.
To create favourable conditions for elderly women members to be involved in all WU’s programmes supporting economic development and poverty alleviation for women and corresponding to their needs and health.
Together with the local governments, departments/branches, mass organizations in continuing to conduct health care activities and promotion of elderly women’s role in their families and communities as well, to focus in organizing cultural, physical activities which are appropriate for elderly people.
To focus on application of model demonstration to unite and attract the elderly women’s participation in WU. To communicate the exemplary of elderly women on local newspapers, radio, television and other mass media outlets to the people.
All provicial/cities Women’s Union and units belonging to VWU, based on this plan, concretize and carry out the plan in accordance to the their respective local conditions.
